(San Diego) - San Diego County Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) today applauded the signing of S. 5, the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005, as a major step toward reducing abusive class action litigation and recognized one long-time CALA leader for his role in President Bush’s tort reform efforts. Andy Kotner, President of San Diego CALA is available for interviews to discuss this landmark event in reforming our nation’s civil justice system.
Don Wolfe, former Mayor of Saratoga and President of Silicon Valley Citizens Against Lawsuits Abuse (CALA), was invited to stand with the President this morning as he signed the legislation. “CALA is proud to be a part of the national movement to reform our out-of-control judicial system,” said Andy Kotner. “This bill is an important step to regaining balance in our courts, stopping venue-shopping and other tricks used by personal injury lawyers to exploit the system.”
