high school essay contest

San Diego County Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse sponsors an annual countywide essay and scholarship contest for high school students.   Cash prizes are awarded in the amounts of $1000 and $500 to finalists selected by a distinguished panel of elected officials, attorneys, and other civic and business leaders.

Our youth have been conditioned to look to lawsuits as the best (and sometimes only) way to solve even minor grievances.  The focus of the essay contest is to get young people thinking about what kind of impact lawsuit abuse has on their pocketbooks, society and our economy.
